"Passion counts more than stereotypes": Lara's story in Engineering

Lara has built her career with passion and determination. Her story shows that, even starting from unconventional paths, commitment and the bravery to face new challenges can take us very far. It is a concrete testament to how, with the right willingness to get involved, one can shape an authentic and rewarding path. Today, at Satispay, Lara does what she truly loves every day.

My journey into the world of technology began almost by chance. In middle school, I had never written a line of code, but I still chose the IT track in high school, driven by curiosity. Everything started from there: the more I coded, the more my passion grew. I owe a lot to my teachers, who managed to pass on their enthusiasm for this subject to me, and to my family, who always supported me without ever making me feel out of place for my choices.

One of the most difficult choices was not to continue with university, but to start working immediately after high school to "get my hands dirty."

I was asked many times why I had made that choice, and I asked myself just as many times. But today, looking at everything I've learned and the opportunities I've had, I know I made the right decision for me. I live with it calmly and with conviction: there isn't just one way to build a satisfying career. Sometimes, the less linear path is the very one that gets you where you wanted to go.

What I'm most passionate about at Satispay is the opportunity to learn every day. Working with such knowledgeable colleagues is a continuous source of growth, both technically and personally. This pushes me to constantly improve and, at the same time, to share what I learn with my team.

I like the idea that everyone can contribute, even with just a piece of advice, to helping those around them grow. I believe the greatest value lies precisely in collaboration: growing together makes the difference.
