Satispay, the super-app that makes managing money and financial services simple and accessible for more than 6 million users, is expanding its acceptance network in large-scale retail: Satispay Meal Vouchers are now accepted at all 800 Lidl stores across Italy.
The agreement marks a new stage in the growth of Satispay Meal Vouchers within everyday grocery shopping and confirms a transformation already under way: the meal voucher is evolving from a benefit intended for eating away from home into a practical tool for managing the family budget. This paradigm shift is reflected in the figures—350,000 workers, 40,000 companies and a network of more than 450,000 affiliated merchants—and is reshaping the role of corporate welfare in everyday life.
With Lidl joining the network, this ecosystem gains one of the most widespread and recognizable names in food retail. The partnership highlights common ground between the two brands: making useful everyday services easier to access, with an immediate user experience and a tangible focus on value for consumers.
Angela Avino, Chief Business Development Officer at Satispay, commented: "When we envisioned Satispay Meal Vouchers, we did not think of them only for lunch away from home, but as a tool capable of supporting people at different moments in their daily lives, including grocery shopping. With Lidl, we are adding an important piece to this journey because we are bringing the service into a setting where simplicity, convenience and frequency of use truly make a difference. Being present with a completely digital, easy-to-use tool is not only gratifying: it confirms that modern corporate welfare has already moved up a gear."
Satispay Meal Voucher users will be able to shop at Lidl directly through the app by scanning the QR code at the checkout, with the option to find the nearest store using the Meal Vouchers filter in the Satispay app. Satispay Meal Vouchers are automatically loaded into a dedicated section of the worker's Satispay app. The system also allows the meal voucher to be combined with any additional amount drawn from the personal wallet; the vouchers are valid on public holidays as well and remain valid for 1 year.
Satispay
Founded in 2015, Satispay is the super-app and proprietary payment network that makes managing money and financial services simple and accessible. With a constantly growing community of 6 million people, the platform allows users to pay via smartphone (at in-store and online merchants), exchange money free of charge and access numerous value-added services: the Cashback Points loyalty program, Buy Now Pay Later to split everyday expenses into 3 interest-free installments, mobile top-ups, payment of slips, car and motorcycle road tax, PagoPA, gift cards, donations and savings. After consolidating its experience in the B2C world, Satispay extended its model to B2B. In September 2023, it entered the corporate welfare market with its innovative Satispay Meal Vouchers and Fringe Benefits, followed by the Satispay FlexBen platform, which simplifies the management of reimbursements and pension funds. In just over two years, Satispay has established itself as one of the sector's leading providers, with more than 40,000 client companies whose employees it offers a new generation of welfare tools that are simple and quick to use, as well as one of the widest acceptance networks in Italy (more than 400,000 affiliated in-store and online merchants). Finally, Satispay has expanded its offering with the Investments section and the Invested Money Box, making investing accessible even to those approaching capital markets for the first time.
