With a degree in marketing, Chiara joined Satispay almost two years ago as an Inside Business Developer. In a short time her path evolved, letting her blend her background with hands-on experience and take on new responsibilities tied to helping people grow.
We asked her how you tackle commercial challenges in a scale-up and why knowing how to go "beyond your own task" is the real key to success.
My experience at Satispay began almost two years ago. Honestly, at first it was a role I didn't entirely expect to step into: my degree is in marketing and corporate communication, while this was clearly a sales position. Even so, I embraced the challenge with huge enthusiasm right from the start.
Today I can say my path has completely evolved, giving me the chance to combine my marketing skills with the hands-on experience I built during my first year here.
As I've grown, so has the company. We've continuously developed new projects, including a marketing one designed specifically for small merchants. Right now my goal is no longer to acquire new businesses, but to upsell to clients who are already satisfied with our services, offering them a new marketing and communication tool to do branding in a simple, automated way.
Alongside this growth of the portfolio there's been an internal evolution within the team too: I've recently started handling the onboarding and development of new joiners. Soon I'll also be in Naples, at our second hub, to train new hires and introduce them to the dynamics of the sales world.
My days are extremely dynamic. The work splits between daily contact with clients — which I manage through email, calls and meetings — and check-in meetings with the other team members to take stock of how our project is developing.
Thanks to the company's meritocracy, I've had the wonderful opportunity to fully develop my soft skills, especially the ones tied to training. It's something you rarely see elsewhere: just a year and a half after joining, I found myself training people who were in exactly the same position I had been in the year before.
If I had to sum up what makes my work unique, I'd say without a doubt: the environment. At Satispay I've found a super stimulating and dynamic setting that pushes you to grow very fast. It's an environment that doesn't just set goals: it genuinely gives you all the tools to reach them.
My favorite pillar is definitely Go the Extra Mile. I relate to it a lot because it lets me push beyond the simple day-to-day task, continuing to evolve and grow together with the company
Beyond technical abilities and so-called hard skills, to step into this world it's essential to carry a rich set of soft skills. Satispay is a place that rewards those who show flexibility, curiosity and, above all, the ability to always go beyond the assigned tasks to bring added value.
