Satispay, the digital account with no account management fees that simplifies payments, cards, investments and banking services, today gives its more than 6.5 million users the option to request the Red debit card without a subscription. This development marks the start of the second phase of the debit card rollout. While the first phase saw the debut of subscription plans (enhanced with numerous benefits and exclusive advantages), today's launch makes the Satispay debit card accessible to everyone, with no monthly fees. This rollout responds to the enthusiasm of the community, whose almost 100,000 requests for debit cards overall, just a few weeks after the initial launch, confirm a strong desire to use Satispay for every type of payment.
The card joins an ecosystem of services that allows users to manage financial and banking services in a single digital account with no monthly fees or commitments, which can be activated in minutes.
The Satispay account offers the option to send and receive instant SEPA transfers free of charge and set up direct debits for utility bills and other services, spread spending interest-free with Buy Now Pay Later, grow money set aside by investing through the Invested Money Box in a money market fund with an estimated annualised return of up to 2.61%*, and build financial independence for the future through the Investments section. In particular, more than 40,000 people already buy and sell stocks and ETFs directly in the app, with an approach focused on consistency: almost half of those investing in ETFs have set up a regular investment plan. This journey is facilitated by the partnership with Vanguard, which allows users to set up recurring investment plans with no purchase fees on all selected Vanguard ETFs. Furthermore, fractional ETFs make it possible to start investing even very small amounts, from a minimum of €1.
Alberto Dalmasso, CEO and Co-Founder of Satispay, commented: “In ten years, we have built a relationship of trust with more than 6.5 million people. Today, that trust allows us to take another step: offering a digital account designed to support people in managing their money every day, from payments to savings and their first investments. Our mission has always been to make financial tools simpler, more immediate and accessible to everyone. It is with this same ambition that today we are making the Red debit card available without a subscription, further expanding the opportunities to use Satispay in everyday life.”
Satispay account holders who request the Red debit card with no monthly fee benefit from zero extra fees on foreign-currency payments up to €1,200 per month and free cash withdrawals up to €200 or 5 transactions per month, beyond which a fee of 1.9% per transaction applies. Every payment also earns 1 Cashback Point for every euro spent, with no amount limits, to obtain cashback to use on subsequent purchases made through the app.
Cards full of experiences built with a strong network of partners:
For those with more specific needs who want additional benefits and services, subscriptions to the Satispay Plus, Satispay Metal and Satispay Velvet plans remain available, with the associated cards included at no extra cost.
Across all plans, Satispay has built an ecosystem of selected partnerships to support users' everyday and professional lives inside and outside the app, with benefits tailored to the chosen plan: from insurance cover provided by Allianz Partners to access to more than 1,400 airport lounges worldwide through Dragonpass, from travel discounts with WeRoad to secure browsing provided by NordVPN, from psychological support with Serenis to wellbeing with Anapana, urban mobility with Dott and Brum, and news from Corriere Naviga and Gazzetta dello Sport.
"We are delighted to partner with Satispay, a true Italian success story that shares our mission of making digital life simpler and safer. Just as Satispay has transformed the way millions of Italians make payments every day, NordVPN makes online security extremely simple. Thanks to this partnership, Metal and Velvet members can now benefit from NordVPN protection at no extra cost: from safer browsing on public Wi-Fi networks to anti-phishing tools and dark web monitoring", said Cristian Gianni, Country Director Italy at NordVPN.
Satispay relies on Marqeta's modern, comprehensive card issuing platform to issue both physical and virtual debit cards, processing transactions in real time through open APIs.
“Satispay has built a payments brand that millions of Italians trust in their everyday financial lives. Marqeta's platform provides the strength and reliability of infrastructure already proven at scale, helping innovative companies such as Satispay launch and grow distinctive payment experiences”, said Todd Pollak, Chief Revenue Officer at Marqeta. “We are ready to continue supporting the Satispay team as it launches new product offerings in the future.”

On the market since 2015, Satispay is the Italian super-app and proprietary payment network that makes managing money and financial services simple and accessible. With a constantly growing community of 6.5 million people and a network of 450,000 participating merchants, the platform enables users to pay via smartphone (in-store and online), transfer money free of charge and access numerous value-added services: the Cashback Points loyalty programme, Buy Now Pay Later to split everyday spending into 3 interest-free instalments, mobile top-ups, payment of slips, car and motorcycle road tax, pagoPA, gift cards, donations and savings. After consolidating its B2C experience, the fintech extended its model to the B2B world. In September 2023, it entered corporate welfare with the innovative Satispay Meal Vouchers and Fringe Benefits, followed by the Satispay FlexBen platform, which simplifies the management of reimbursements and pension funds. In just over two years, Satispay has positioned itself among the sector's leading operators, with more than 45,000 client companies whose employees it offers next-generation welfare tools distinguished by simplicity and speed of use, together with one of Italy's broadest acceptance networks (more than 400,000 participating merchants). Satispay has also expanded its savings and investment offering with the Invested Money Box and the Investments section, where users can invest in mutual funds and, more recently, buy and sell stocks and ETFs directly in the app, making investing accessible even to those taking their first steps in the markets. With the launch of debit cards in partnership with Mastercard, enabling Satispay payments worldwide, the company is taking another step towards banking, with the aim of offering all the features of an account in a single app.

The Invested Money Box allows users to invest in a money market fund.
1 Estimated annualised return as at 14/09/2025, net of the fund's cost at that date. This figure is purely indicative, does not constitute a guarantee of expected future returns and does not represent a guaranteed minimum return. It is calculated based on the market conditions prevailing at the time of calculation, is recalculated based on updated market conditions and considers a short- and very short-term horizon. The figure quoted is annualised and represents the weighted average Yield To Maturity – YTM (known in Italian as Tasso di Rendimento Effettivo a Scadenza - TRES) of the securities in which the money market fund invests, net of the fund's costs. YTM assumes that certain conditions are met: 1) Securities are held until maturity or, in the case of floating-rate securities, until their next floating-rate reset; 2) Any cash flows generated by the securities are reinvested at the YTM rate; 3) Cash flows generated by the securities are paid on time (partial/full repayment of principal, coupons, etc.). The return is annualised because it is calculated on a portfolio of securities with an extremely short Weighted Average Maturity. Please consult the fund's prospectus and KID before making an investment decision. The return is variable and influenced by market conditions, including interest-rate and credit risks, and is subject to taxation, which depends on each investor's personal circumstances and may change in the future.
